Training Events for all farmers

Training Events for all farmers

Several trainings for all farmers are planned in order to prepare the farmers for the shift to sustainable organic agricultural methods. This is required due to their low knowledge at project start before the agriculture facilitators can take over for more training events. All these trainings are  given by the project staff in cooperation with experts from ITDA or the agriculture extension service. They are held at places easily reachable for the farmers. Tents are rented if no suitable room is available in the village. With the multipliers (agriculture facilitators), an institution for information distribution and counselling of the farmers is established within the villages. 5 volunteers per village are selected in coordination with the communities. Selection criteria beside the interest of the volunteers the acceptance of the community, sufficient reading and writing skills, communication skills and competency in dealing with people as well as their willingness to extend their knowledge gained during the training events to the farmers of their village in the long-run and on a voluntary basis are very much desirable .
